Owen Hargreaves sang the praises of Adama Traore after his performance against Burnley last night for Wolves.
The game finished 0-0 at Molineux, which is undoubtedly a disappointing result.
Wolves had the lion’s share of possession.
But the well organised Clarets limited Wolves to mostly half-chances and sighters.
Traore was the main threat for Wolves.
The Spaniard was back in the side for the first time since the Leeds United game on October 23.
The star proved a real handful with his pace and dribbling as is so often the case.
But the star lacked that killer end product, as is also often the case.
He crashed an effort off the bar on a counter-attack in the first-half, when he perhaps could have passed to Raul Jimenez.
Despite a frustrating showing, Hargreaves showered praise on the star after the game.
He said on Amazon Prime: “He was the best player on the pitch by a mile.
“I know his numbers aren’t there in terms of goals and assists. But there’s not many players in the world of football that can get into these spaces and go on their own.
“He was just full of energy. He’s so quick, so explosive, it’s just that end product. If he can get that’s… he’s unplayable.”
Adama Traore continues to frustrate, after Burnley performance
Traore was one of the better players for Wolves last night. He wasn’t the best player on the pitch by a mile though. That honour surely goes to Max Kilman, who was excellent once again.
As good as Traore was at times, he showed that his end product is still lacking.
The star was also praised by Lage after the game and he will probably start against Liverpool.
He is so close to becoming a top player.
Given his contract is winding down though, it may well be that Traore eventually discovers it away from Molineux, which would be a tough one to take for supporters.
