Wolves ran out 3-0 winners against West Ham United, and Rob Edwards was full of praise for a player who hasn’t had too much acknowledgment
Saturday saw Wolves finally get that first victory in the Premier League, as West Ham United fell at Molineux.
Mateus Mane inspired Wolves to victory, playing a part in all three goals and scoring the third himself.
WOW 😍. What is your message to Rob Edwards after that performance, Wolves fans?
It’s safe to say that most of the talk has been about Mane since the game.
Hwang Hee-chan has also come in for a lot plaudits, as did the other goalscorer Jhon Arias, who looks a different player in midfield.
But there was someone else who Rob Edwards felt did really well on Saturday.
And that man, was goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Jose Sa looks all set for Everton start after display vs West Ham
Sa was recalled by Edwards a few weeks ago, which was an intriguing call.
Johnstone’s form had dipped, but not so drastically that fans were really calling for him to be dropped.

But Sa had decent games against Liverpool and Manchester United, although he was slightly chaotic against the Red Devils.
And for that he was rewarded with another start against West Ham, against whom he kept a clean sheet – Wolves’ first in the league this season.
And his showing left an impression on Edwards, who said (via Wolves official): “It was nice to get that, of course. Being three goals to the good with 30 seconds to go I started enjoying it a little bit. Then I was thinking to tick another thing off and get a clean sheet as well.
“That was good. I felt we deserved it. Any time the ball came in the box, I thought Sa was brilliant. We got blocks in, got headers in when we needed.
“I feel there weren’t too many heart in mouth moments, I felt fairly calm.”

Sa surely starts vs Everton
Following this verdict, Sa is surely nailed on to start against Everton in midweek.
It has to be said, his performance against West Ham was solid. The Irons didn’t threaten him too much, but they did throw a lot of balls into the box.

Sa was required to deal with those balls and he passed the test each time. As per Sofascore data, he made five punches and three high claims, which shows how commanding he was.
Sa isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. We know he can be rash and put his defence under needless pressure at times.
But he can also pull out great performances from time to time, and he deserves credit for how he’s forced his way back into the starting XI. It’s now on him to keep consistent.
