Nuno Espirito Santo comments on Adama Traore after Spurs beat Wolves

Wolves were unlucky to come away from the game with nothing.

Bruno Lage’s side created plenty of opportunities, as was the case against Leicester City, but just couldn’t find that breakthrough.

The man who looked most likely for Wolves was Traore, who was electric in the game.

The 25-year-old was a constant menace for Spurs, with Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga having to get very physical to try and stop him.

He had a golden chance to score in the second-half, but was denied one-on-one by Hugo Lloris.

After the game, Nuno praised his former star when asked about him.

He said (football.london): “I think Wolves have a very good team and created us enormous problems, big big problems.

“One of those was Adama. Everyone knows Adama is unique and he’s very hard to stop.”

Nuno clearly tried to nullify Traore

It was clear to see that Nuno had instructed his players to try and shut Traore down.

He drew many fouls from the likes of Sanchez, Tanganga and also Oliver Skipp, who came across to help out a number of times.

Given the attention he was getting, it really was a fine performance from Traore.

He is so close to being a top-class player – as everyone can see, he just needs to get a bit more clinical in the final third.
