Noah Sadiki drops surprising Wolves verdict after Sunderland’s 2-0 win

Wolves remain winless in the Premier League after losing to Sunderland.

Fans had been optimistic of getting points after Wanderers have shown improvement in the weeks preceding the international break.

But at the Stadium of Light Wolves fell short, losing 2-0.

Nordi Mukiele opened the scoring after playing a one-two with Trai Hume, with Matt Doherty losing the winger.

Then in injury-time, Ladislav Krejci put through his own net in what was an unfortunate moment for him personally. If there is one player who did not deserve something like that to happen, it’s the Czech defender, who scooped Wolves’ Player of the Month award for September and has generally been rock-solid.

Despite the defeat, Wolves did come in for a positive word from Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki.

The 2-0 defeat now makes next weekend’s game with Burnley huge.

Wolves are starting to get cut adrift at the bottom, and are five points from safety now.

Wolves ideally wanted six points from the games with Sunderland and Burnley, but it can now only be three – although some fans will not be confident of a victory against Scott Parker’s side.

That said, Noah Sadiki does believe Wolves do have something about them.

Despite a fairly comfortable win for Sunderland yesterday, the Black Cats midfielder said: “We did everything to get the three points and I think we deserved it

“Wolves were really good, they brought us difficulties. Fortunately for us, we finished with a clean sheet.”

Pereira also liked what he saw from Wolves for a 30-minute spell in the second-half. However, Pereira did also question the Wolves players for how they managed the closing stages.

As per Fotmob, Wolves had and xG of just 0.78 against Sunderland from 16 shots. So while there were attempts from the visitors, the quality of the chances was low. This, and the fact Wanderers conceded two goals, makes Sadiki’s verdict on Wolves perhaps a little overly kind.

It’s interesting to hear that Sadiki felt Wolves played well yesterday.

While Wolves did have more of the ball, Pereira’s side just couldn’t threaten enough with it.

That is the major issue right now for Wanderers. Up top, there is just very little happening.

We know Jorgen Strand Larsen is struggling with injury still and so long as that is the case, then Wolves are in real trouble.

But other attacking players also need to step up in a big way while Strand Larsen isn’t at his best.
