Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho were the goalscorers as Wolves notched up another victory, beating Brentford 2-1 at the Brentford Community Stadium.
Moutinho opened the scoring before Ivan Toney made it 1-1 but Neves crashed home the winner in trademark style.
Clinton Morrison was covering the dramatic match for Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday and after the game said that the two Portuguese maestros were outstanding throughout.

“Wolves scored at the crucial times. Joao Moutinho gets better with age,” said Morrison. “Him and Ruben Neves were outstanding this afternoon. Brilliant.
“He plays a brilliant 1-2 with Nelson Semedo and faces up Pontus Jansson and whips a brilliant finish past Lossl. Superb finish.
“Brentford did have a response but this is a different Wolves under Bruno Lage, they dominated possession and Moutinho played it to Neves, who takes a touch and bends it in.
“In stages, they did dominate and they did this without their main striker Raul Jimenez.”

Neves and Moutinho showed their class on an afternoon where Wolves avenged their worst performance of the season in the reverse fixture back in September.
This was a crucial win which takes them within striking distance of the top four as the club seeks to keep this momentum rolling on.
There is now a break for this thin squad to take a breath before they go again as the business end of the season comes into view.
