Wolves have beaten Burnley 1-0 at Molineux in the Premier League tonight – and Michael Owen hailed the match-winner Hwang Hee-chan.
After losing to Fulham and Arsenal, there was a bit more emphasis on tonight’s clash with the Clarets.
Wolves did not start the game particularly well, and had Dan Bentley to thank for a wonderful double-save in the first-half.
It was all very pedestrian, but then just before half-time, some sloppy Burnley play led to the goal.
Mario Lemina’s press forced the heavy touch from Sander Berge, and Pablo Sarabia then found Matheus Cunha, who found Hwang.
Hwang finished superbly – and at half-time he drew praise from one of the Premier League’s best ever goalscorers…
Michael Owen hails Hwang Hee-chan after scoring for Wolves against Burnley

It was a game of few clear-cut chances, but Hwang made no mistake tonight when presented with that big opportunity just before the break.
The South Korean, so often in the right position this season, took one touch to set himself, and then stuttered a little to make a bit of space, before firing low into the corner.
It was a moment that impressed Owen, who was on punditry duty for Amazon Prime Sport.
He said of the star: “(If) he hits it early, it gets blocked. It’s that tiny delay that just opens up that corner.
“I love this lad in front of goal you know, he always gets into the right positions and rarely misses. That was the big chance, and he took it really well.”
Hwang has become impressively clinical
Tonight’s performance was not the best from Wolves but what mattered was winning the game after two straight defeats.
It was a brilliant goal to win the game from £30,000-a-week star Hwang, who is becoming a seriously accomplished finisher.
That little stutter he did just to set himself and buy a bit of space was really good, and that level of composure is fantastic to see. Wolves can be very wasteful in front of goal at times, but Hwang is starting to become a safe bet to score when he gets into the right positions.
That’s now eight Premier League goals for the South Korean, who is rightly coming in for a lot of plaudits for what he is doing.
