Micah Richards says one Wolves star is ‘frustrated’ after what he saw against Crystal Palace

Wolves’ winless run extended at Molineux as the Old Gold came from behind to earn a point against Crystal Palace.

The Midlands side were desperate to earn a long overdue three points however, had to settle for a draw.

Wolves came from behind to lead 2-1 at Molineux, before Marc Guehi netted Palace’s equaliser to see Gary O’Neil’s squad’s efforts reduced to a single point.

A draw was not good enough considering where the Old Gold find themselves after 10 games, sitting bottom of the table with just three points from a possible 30.

Micah Richards makes Matheus Cunha Wolves prediction

The start to the season isn’t the only concern for O’Neil, who is feeling the pressure as his side are currently on a run of one win in 20 Premier League games.

It’s a horrendous state of form which has rightfully caused questions to be asked about the manager, with the squad’s suffering being carried into the new campaign.

The game against Palace was a must-win, and it absolutely could have ended in a win for the hosts if chances had been converted.

Pundit Micah Richards focused on the amount of chances missed after the draw, reacting to Matheus Cunha’s performance.

“He [Cunha] must be frustrated because, you know when you’ve got a player who’s putting it on a plate for people and you’re not finishing off games, it’s disappointing,” Richards said on BBC Match of the Day.

After making a prediction about Cunha’s post-match thoughts, Richards continued to praise the Brazilian’s impact.

“I don’t feel like his performances have dropped in terms of creativity, at times he could do more when he’s getting into the shape. He was the one player on the pitch who was going to make something happen.”

Cunha ran the show for Wolves against Crystal Palace

Cunha created several strong chances for Wolves, with his efforts amounting to an assist, his fifth goal contribution in the Premier League so far.

Richards was right to focus on the 25-year-old in his post-match analysis, as the Brazilian was Wolves’ stand out on a day that required full application going forward.

As per Sofascore, Cunha created three big chances in the game, as well as recording four key passes to flex his playmaking superiority.

Aside from his distribution, the forward also showed his strength in other areas, winning five duels and completing three dribbles.

Even with a player of Cunha’s calibre leading the way, Wolves are bottom of the table, emphasising Richards’ assumption of the Brazilian’s frustration among the current group.
