Jhon Arias had a debut to remember in Old Gold as the Colombian scored for Wolves against Girona.
Vitor Pereira’s side fell to defeat in Spain, as Wolves lost 2-1 on the night in Girona in a performance that will trigger mixed emotions.
The Old Gold started and ended the game well, but the intensity dropped in between, seeing the hosts score twice.
There were positives during the contest, as Ki-Jana Hoever, Fer Lopez and debutant Jhon Arias massively impressed.
Though several players will be satisfied with their performances, the night belonged to Arias.

Wolves fans react to Jhon Arias’ debut against Girona
Wolves fans will want to see more from the squad as the final game of pre-season approaches.
The result won’t bother fans too much, as the talk of the town is Arias, who showed a glimpse of what he can offer to Pereira’s front line on his debut.
Wolves fans were overjoyed by the preview the Colombian gave them, bringing a fresh energy to the final third and, of course, scoring an impeccably worked goal.
After Arias found space between two defenders, held them off and finished to score, Wolves supporters erupted on social media.
“Arias has me moved. Will be massive for us in staying up this year,” one fan said, as positive reactions to the summer signing flooded in on X.
“Arias is our saviour, I’ve just decided.”
“Arias is a serious, serious player.”
Fans were sure not to overreact…sort of, “Arias is a God.”
As the forward put the ball in the net and combined well with his teammates, some supporters claimed they saw visions of Lionel Messi.
“Arias is Messi but better.”
Others opted to predict that the Colombia international would become more of a trailblazer at Molineux than Matheus Cunha.
“Arias will come better for us than Cunha did, mark my words.”
Another said, “Arias is gonna be fun isn’t he?”
Some supporters remained grounded when evaluating Arias, insisting that the forward is already a cut above the rest.
“Mate Arias looks unreal. He’s gonna have to create absolutely everything for us the rest of them are useless.”
“Arias already the best player we have at the club when it comes to creativity. Shame we didn’t see him and Lopez together.”
As concerns about Wolves’ creativity have been aired over pre-season, one fan predicted that Arias could quieten such woes.
“Jhon Arias could have the key to the final third. Great debut goal.”
Arias raised the bar against Girona
Fans couldn’t have asked for any more from Arias on his debut, as the former Fluminense ace did exactly what was expected of him.
Having seen what the winger offered at the Club World Cup, Wolves got their own preview of the forward on European soil.
It was a top first showing from Arias, who was thrilling throughout his non-competitive debut, with the bar already high as a result of his early brilliance.
Pereira could start his summer signing in the final pre-season test against Celta Vigo, the final match before the Old Gold kick off their season against Manchester City.
