Mateus Mane leaves Gary Neville impressed on Sky commentary as Wolves hold Man United

Wolves held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw to pick up their third point of the season, with Rob Edwards now off the mark.

The Old Gold put in a very decent performance at Old Trafford, and fans would have taken that looking at the starting XI before the game.

Rob Edwards is missing a number of key players right now, but most who featured tonight gave a great account of themselves.

Ladislav Krejci scored just before half-time for Wolves, after Joshua Zirkzee’s strike put United in front.

Wanderers created quite a few chances against the Red Devils, but sadly that ruthlessness just wasn’t quite there.

One man who stood out again was Mateus Mane – who caught the eye of Sky pundit Gary Neville.

Mane has been a real standout for Wolves in recent weeks.

He was rewarded for his performance with a first start in the Premier League against Liverpool at the weekend.

And he rightly kept his place against United – and he justified his selection with another bright showing where he showed confidence at every turn.

And his display made an impression on Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville.

What did you make of Mateus Mane’s performance against Man United?

Mane skipped away from two United players in midfield, before then drawing a foul. Neville said: “Really good from Mane. What a good young talent he looks.”

As per Sofascore, Mane contested the second-most duels in the game with 15, second only to Jhon Arias.

Mane’s stock continues to rise

Mane can hold his head high again after his showing against United.

The teenager just looks full of confidence, almost as if Mane – who Lee Naylor compared to Robbie Keane – is relishing the fight and is enjoying being the player that most fans are currently looking at to deliver.

At the moment, it’s clear he needs to be starting every game he’s available for.

And if he keeps playing like he is, that first Premier League goal will not be far away.
