Mateus Mane has almost certainly announced himself on the Premier League stage now.
The Wolves academy prospect was handed his third consecutive start, but his first at Molineux, and he took the game vs West Ham by its reins.
It was a dominant display, as a first-half blitz by the Hammers would be all that was needed to secure the win, and Mane was involved in all of the action.
Mateus Mane was undoubtedly Wolves’ standout, and his stocks are quickly beginning to rise in the footballing world.
Pundits are already starting to rave about the Old Gold youngster, and he has now spoken out after the game.
WOW 😍. What is your message to Rob Edwards after that performance, Wolves fans?
Mateus Mane speaks after Wolves’ 3-0 win over West Ham

Mateus Mane was on hand to speak to the media following Wolves’ statement win over West Ham and has delivered a resounding message to fans.
The forward, who has been operating in the midfield over the last couple of games, has really found himself at home in the starting XI, and the faith from Rob Edwards has continuously been rewarded.
His performance against West Ham was perhaps his breakthrough moment, as he scored, won a penalty, and brilliantly set up an attack for the opening goal.
He is quickly becoming a fan favourite, even earning himself a chant from Wolves fans, which is seemingly helping him even more.
The 18-year-old told Sky Sports via BBC Sport, “When I hear the fans sing my name, it makes me want to do more for them.
“It’s our first win, but we’re not done yet; we want to get higher and higher. I’ve had friends and family watching here today, which felt amazing.”
Mane is certainly impressing both fans and the footballing world, and none less than Rob Edwards. But while the attacker was fantastic, one other Wolves star deserves plaudits too.
Who was your MOTM during that brilliant 3-0 win for Wolves? 🤩
Rob Edwards full of praise for Mateus Mane
Rob Edwards was also on hand to speak about Wolves’ rising talent, stating that his inclusion in the team has lifted everybody around him.
Earlier in the week at his press conference, Edwards told the media that Mateus Mane, despite his lack of experience, is still a leader in the team through his actions on the pitch, and he has now followed that up.
Edwards told BBC Sport, “It has given everyone a lift; you can hear the fans singing his name. We have to make sure we look after him.
“He has had a really impressive couple of weeks, and it was a fantastic goal today. He has a great attitude. He will take risks at the right time, but at the same time, he is all about the team. He has been really impressive so far.”
Wolves will need to be careful to not overwork Mane, who has quickly become the focal point of this side. Edwards will have to find the right balance of giving him rest and using him on the pitch.
However, right now, it is safe to say he is undroppable.
