Mateus Mane gets his first Wolves chant and it’s one of the best yet

Mateus Mane has given Wolves fans something to shout about in what has been a very disappointing season to date.

Nobody would have expected this season to go quite so badly, despite there being early warning signs during pre-season with Vitor Pereira at Wolves.

Wolves have now gone winless in the opening half of the Premier League season, and there have been times when you wonder if they’ll even get a win at all.

But the future is certainly bright with Mateus Mane now in the picture.

His performance against Manchester United highlighted that even at the age of 18, he’s more than ready to put on a show in the Premier League.

Even Gary Neville took note of Mane’s brilliant display.

Mateus Mane gets his first Wolves chant

It’s essential that Mane receives the right guidance at Wolves and that the necessary support is available during what has been a rather toxic period lately.

But one thing that is for certain is that Wolves fans have been doing everything they can.

The chants from the Wolves faithful haven’t gone unnoticed, as Mateus Mane has credited the supporters for boosting his confidence since his introduction.

And he’ll love them even more after hearing his chant from the away end at Old Trafford, as Wolves fans turned the famous song ‘Zombie’ into a new hit with ‘Mane’.

Mateus Mane’s stats against Manchester United

Mane put in a shift at Old Trafford.

He made 82% of his passes and successfully won 4 of his 7 ground duels. In his roaming role, he managed 38 touches, including two key passes into the final third, as well as two successful dribbles and a crucial blocked shot in the second half (as per FotMob).

In his short stint in the Wolves first team he has shown he can play in a free-roaming, attacking midfielder role, as well as on either wing.

The next step now is to start adding goals to his game after grabbing an assist against Arsenal.
