While Wolves fans were likely hoping for three points at the City Ground, on the back of the 6-2 defeat to Chelsea last weekend, it is a decent result.

Many of the squad put in far better performances against Forest, including captain Lemina who was seen all over the pitch.

As Forest ramped up the pressure late on, the midfielder ensured that Wolves stayed strong to pick up their first point of the season.

Now, it has been revealed that Lemina’s defensive performance was one of the best in the country this weekend.

According to Opta, Lemina performed 10 tackles against Forest, the most in England’s top four leagues.

It was also the second most a Wolves player has made since Opta records began in the 2006/07 campaign, with Jonny holding the record at 11.

Nottingham Forest result will be a confidence booster for Mario Lemina and Wolves

There is no doubt that the Chelsea result was a kick in the teeth for Wolves. After a decent pre-season, the squad looked like they were on the floor.

Therefore, it was essential that Wolves avoided defeat at Forest and went into the international break with something.

While there were many shaky moments, the club saw it out, with many impressing defensively late on.

10 tackles in a singular match is definitely a feat to be proud of for Lemina and should boost his confidence going into the Newcastle match in two weeks.
