Wolves fell to narrow defeat against Liverpool at Anfield but, the Old Gold managed to impress many with their performance.
Vitor Pereira had a plan to trouble Liverpool and the Wolves manager did just that, as the Midlands side travelled to Anfield in search of three points.
Unfortunately for the visitors, things didn’t go to plan in the first half, as Jose Sa was involved in two blunders, first rushing to Luis Diaz who finished beyond the goalkeeper and then, conceding a penalty.
Wolves can leave Merseyside satisfied with their performance despite the defeat however, Liverpool fans made it clear that they’d quite like one visiting player to remain at Anfield.

Liverpool fans mesmerised by Rayan Ait-Nouri
While Wolves certainly caused some concern inside Anfield, Liverpool fans thoroughly enjoyed watching one of Pereira’s players in action.
On social media, supporters of the Reds sent messages to Slot in favour of signing Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves in the summer.
“Ait-nouri so good,” a Liverpool fan said, as others echoed, “Sign Ait-Nouri he’s class.”
The narrative of an audition at Anfield was traceable, as a Wolves fan posted the following on X.
“Ait-Nouri there showing us his tricks right in front on Arne Slot… it’s like he thinks it’s an audition.”
A Liverpool supporter shared a similar verdict, as they said, “Ait-Nouri’s job interview going great so far…”
Ironically, Ait-Nouri has been linked to Liverpool during past transfer windows, with there an expectation that the rising left-back could secure a move in the near future.
One Liverpool fan certainly thought that would be the case, saying during the game, “Ait-Nouri will move on this summer 100%”
Supporters of the Premier League leaders were having visions of the Wolves defender once day replacing Andy Robertson, which journalist Francois Plateau commented on.
“Hard to believe that Andrew Robertson is playing for a team chasing a league title, while Rayan Ait-Nouri is in a relegation battle. The difference in quality between the two is quite glaring,” Plateau said.
Several fans were calling for Slot to switch his squad with Wolves’ during the interval, making their thoughts on Ait-Nouri clear.
“Someone on for Konate and trade Robertson for Ait-Nouri at half time please Mr Slot,” a Liverpool supporter said, as another agreed, “Can we sneak Ait-nouri into the home dressing room at FT? They can have Robbo they don’t notice.”
“Ait-Nouri is class. Would love to see him replace Robertson at Liverpool,” was the general consensus from the fixture.
Rayan Ait-Nouri impressed against Liverpool
Not many could’ve asked for more from Wolves against Liverpool, with Ait-Nouri being one of several players who stood up to the task at Anfield.

As seen above, the Algerian was superb going forward and in defence, which is a relief, as Pereira committed to improving Ait-Nouri defensively.
Wolves walk away from Anfield with their heads high and, to the pain of Liverpool fans, with Ait-Nouri, who supporters are desperate to see on Merseyside.
