Wolves returned from the international break with a clash against West Ham in the Premier League.
Last time out, Wolves beat Southampton 2-1 to climb nine points clear of the bottom three, doing so without the suspended Matheus Cunha.
Vitor Pereira will have ordered his team to continue that momentum against the Hammers and luckily, the Old Gold produced a solid performance on Tuesday night.
It was Jorgen Strand Larsen’s first-half strike, his 10th goal of the season, that secured a vital three points.
Here are five things we learned from the game.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is better without Matheus Cunha
Strand Larsen was the hero once more for Wolves, striking from outside of the penalty area past Alphonse Areola.
It was the second game running that the Norwegian got himself on the scoresheet after netting a brace in the win over Southampton.

Wolves may be without Cunha at the moment but they’re arguably playing better without the Brazilian, and Strand Larsen is someone benefitting in his absence.
The 25-year-old is now the focal point of the Wolves attack and he’s oozing confidence in front of goal, suggesting that life without Cunha in the summer may not be as bad as first thought.

Wolves need to persuade Nelson Semedo to stay
Nelson Semedo’s future at Wolves is hanging up in the air. The 31-year-old sees his contract expire in the summer but high wages mean renewing his deal could be a problem.
Benfica showed an interest in Semedo, although the Portuguese giants can’t afford his salary, and that casts doubt over which club he will be at in the summer.
However, Pereira openly wants to keep Semedo and his performance in the win over West Ham explains why.
The Portuguese international was a bundle of energy down the right wing, driving his team forward and leading by example as captain. It was a performance that perhaps showed why they should look to keep him.
Marshall Munetsi needs to improve his finishing
Wolves enjoyed a dominant first half against West Ham and were unfortunate not to double their lead when Marshall Munetsi missed a gilt-edged chance.
The ball fell to the 28-year-old unmarked in the box but he struck the bar with his effort when he really should have been hitting the target.
Munetsi’s finishing has been criticised since joining the club, particularly in his first few games as he squandered multiple opportunities.
And it’s certainly an area of his game that he can improve if he wants to become more lethal in front of goal.
Joao Gomes immediately proved he’s worth new deal
On Tuesday afternoon Wolves fans were ecstatic and perhaps surprised that Joao Gomes signed a new contract.
Tottenham were linked with Joao Gomes recently and some felt the 24-year-old would have departed in the summer.
But Wolves have persuaded him to commit his future and he’s already proven his worth, producing a domineering performance in midfield.
The Brazilian was excellent alongside Andre, as usual, and supporters will feel blessed that his new contract doesn’t have a release clause.
Vitor Pereira deserves huge credit as safety looks secure
The turnaround since Pereira replaced Gary O’Neil has been magnificent.
When the 56-year-old arrived at Molineux, Wolves were four points adrift of safety and now they’ve opened up a 12-point gap on the bottom three.
It’s now back-to-back wins for the Old Gold for the first time in the league since Pereira’s first two games in charge, and hopefully, they can continue this momentum for the remainder of the campaign.
