Wolves blew Fulham away at Craven Cottage with a stunning 4-1 victory on week 12 of the Premier League season.
The 2024/25 campaign has finally begun for Wolves, who had to wait until match day 11 to secure their first three points.
Gary O’Neil was aware of the pressure heading into the clash with Fulham and his squad did not let him down, scoring four away from home.
Matheus Cunha terrorised Fulham to score two sublime goals and was joined by Joao Gomes and Goncalo Guedes on the scoresheet.

Pedro Neto sends message to Joao Gomes
It was undoubtedly Cunha’s day however, he wasn’t the only Wolves star to impress in the capital.
Gomes was incredible in all areas against Fulham, scoring, assisting and defending superbly in the middle of the park.
The Brazilian marked the occasion with a celebratory post on Instagram, where he said, “Let’s go Wolves,” sharing photos of himself and his teammates celebrating.
As expected, the comments were flooded with a mass of well wishes, including a message from Pedro Neto, who said, “left foot nahhhh,” applauding his former teammate’s display.
Gomes replied to the Chelsea winger by saying, “I miss you”, something that most Wolves fans would agree with.
Neto wasn’t the only star player to react to Gomes’ display, as the midfielder received an abundance of praise.
- Andre: Joga muito
- Nelson Semedo: Laying it down bro
- Dan Bentley: Those shooting sessions finally paying off
- Pablo Sarabia: What a shot
Gomes was at his best against Fulham
The Wolves midfielder would have been disappointed to have missed out on a Brazil call-up however, he’s doing all he can to find a way back in.
Against Fulham, Gomes was simply unplayable, as his numbers reflected on what was a memorable day at Craven Cottage.
Joao Gomes vs Fulham |
2 goal contributions |
92% pass completion |
3/4 completed dribbles |
10 duels won |

A goal, an assist, a showing of tidy passing and a monstrous defensive shift rounded off a simply superb performance from the 23-year-old.
Seeing Gomes perform at such level is not a surprise to Wolves fans, who have seen just what the Brazilian can offer since his January 2023 arrival from Flamengo.
If Julen Lopetegui’s signing can continue to impress as he did against Fulham then the Old Gold stand a significant chance of turning their season around.
