Wolves have drawn 0-0 with Brighton at the Amex Stadium tonight in the Premier League – and commentator Jermaine Jenas branded Pedro Neto ‘probably the best player on the pitch’ at the end of the game.
Wanderers have stretched their unbeaten run in the league to four games, and six matches across all competitions.
Wolves soaked up a lot of pressure tonight, and credit must go to the defenders in particular.
The three centre-halves were superb, as was Nelson Semedo on the right side.
Tommy Doyle also worked his socks off in midfield and continues to make a case for Wolves to trigger his £5 million option to buy clause early.
Jermaine Jenas raved over the youngster during the match – and he also had praise for Wolves winger Neto…
Jermaine Jenas brands Pedro Neto the best player on the pitch in Brighton 0-0 Wolves

The game plan was very clear tonight – Wolves were going to soak up pressure and try to hit Brighton on the counter.
Neto was played as a striker, with Matheus Cunha to his left and Pablo Sarabia to his right.
Wanderers were always looking to get the Portuguese forward in, but very often the ball through to him was poor, and Neto did cut a frustrated figure at times.
But Neto still got on the ball in dangerous areas several times and was a threat, more so in the second-half.
Jenas enjoyed his display, and said of Neto as he was being substituted off at the end (TNT Sports): “I had a look at him two or three minutes ago and he has definitely run out of steam.
“He gets a huge applause from the away fans and rightly so, I think he’s been brilliant. Probably the best player on the pitch. He’s the one who’s offered something at that top end and you can see how happy Gary O’Neil is getting 87 minutes into his star man.
“I think as the game has progressed he’s the one who’s shown all the threat. I think Wolves as a team have been very well organised.”
A great showing from Neto
O’Neil will be delighted with Neto’s display tonight on his first Wolves start since he went off injured against Newcastle United.
Neto was a livewire playing through the middle and came close to scoring a brilliant goal in the first-half with a rasping drive from just outside the box.
It is a major boost for Wanderers to have £50,000-a-week Neto back. Especially with Hwang Hee-chan currently unavailable.
The ‘outstanding’ star just makes Wolves much more threatening in the final third. Wolves couldn’t breach Brighton tonight, but Neto’s display was definitely encouraging considering he only recently returned from his injury.
