Jamie Carragher blasts Wolves player who has been ‘awful all season’, after Chelsea defeat

Wolves have lost to Chelsea in the Premier League – and Jamie Carragher has torn into one player after the defeat.

Wolves lost 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, and Vitor Pereira has now overseen three straight losses, with three goals being conceded in each defeat.

Wolves were awful for the most-part, and never properly tested Robert Sanchez.

Wolves fans criticised Matheus Cunha for looking disinterested in the game, and the performance came after there were reports about the Brazilian stalling over signing a new contract at Molineux.

Wanderers are appalling once again defensively, conceding two more goals from set-pieces.

Jose Sa has come in for criticism again, and one man who was less than impressed was Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher.

It was another atrocious defensive performance from Wolves against Chelsea.

With the goals from Tosin Adarabioyo and Noni Madueke, Wolves have now conceded 19 goals from set-pieces, which is truly abysmal.

Pereira made a good start, but now has a huge amount of work to do to address this issue, and one man he’ll need a lot more from moving forward is Jose Sa.

Sa did not cover himself in glory for the goal by Madueke, with Carragher slamming him after the game.

He said on Sky Sports: “You talk about Wolves again, set-pieces, the record is shocking. The goalkeeper has been awful all season for Wolves, he really has.

“He finds himself in no man’s land.”

Wolves have two goalkeepers below par

Wolves have defended awfully this season, especially from set-pieces.

It is, of course, a collective effort. But at this point it’s clear that Wolves have two goalkeepers who are way below the standards required.

Sa has had good games during his time at Wolves, but he’s also had many poor ones.

Unfortunately, the man brought in to challenge him for his spot, Sam Johnstone, has failed to live up to expectations after being bought for £10 million.

It’s a nightmare situation for Wolves, and one that arguably didn’t need to happen.
