‘I’m desperate’: Gary O’Neil explains what needs to happen

Wolves suffered a devastating draw against lowly Luton in a 1-1 draw in which the headlines were stolen by VAR.

Wolves went ahead early in the game, with Pedro Neto going on an absolutely mesmerising solo run.

This continuing his excellent form this season which also saw him grab a goal to add to his impressive tally of assists for the Molineux side.

The goal was a massive bright spot in another dark day for Wolves which resulted in just a point against Luton.

Wolves would have seen today a huge opportunity for them to get some points on the board, but a draw means Gary O’Neil will be under pressure heading into the next few games.

Gary O’Neil is desperate

Speaking post-game, O’Neil told press as reported by Nathan Judah on social media platform X his plans going forward, but admitted he is desperate for results.

“I’ll make some changes on Tuesday, but I’m desperate to beat Ipswich.”

His desperation is not misplaced with some positivity around Wolves absolutely vital right now.

Following Ipswich in the cup, games against both Manchester City and Aston Villa await Wolves.

A bad run could get worse for Gary O’Neil

Fans have already began to question O’Neil’s status as manager after a few unlucky defeats and a draw.

But with the next few games being difficult, he could be about to face a lot more scrutiny with the chances of success looking bleak.

This could see an insurmountable burden of pressure and criticism placed onto O’Neil which inevitably would see his position under threat.

Therefore his desperation for a result against Ipswich is understandable.
