Wolves were left disappointed at Molineux on Saturday afternoon as they lost 2-0 to Brentford in the Premier League.
Gary O’Neil has had his side on an incredible run of form and before facing Brentford, he’d tasted defeat just once in nine games.
However, during Saturday’s game came a defeat which will be one which annoys the talented manager. Wolves failed to score in the game which was the first time they have done so at Molineux in 18 games.
More concerningly for Old Gold, however, star man Matheus Cunha picked up an injury, although he doesn’t think it’s too serious according to his manager.
The injury was followed by two Brentford goals from Christian Norgaard and Ivan Toney which rounded out a 2-0 win.
Despite the defeat, there was one Wolves player who deserves some praise for his display. This is Rayan Ait-Nouri as he enjoyed a spectacular display at Molineux.
The 22-year-old was a force on the left for Wolves. Here’s a look at his performance from Saturday.

Rayan Ait-Nouri impresses against Brentford
At left-back, Ait-Nouri once more proved his worth and that there’s few in the league better than him at his role in a 102-touch display.
Ait-Nouri completed three key passes in the game, along with 67/68 passes being completed (99%).
Defensively he was also immense as he won a huge 11 duels, made two clearances and also made three tackles.
He was far and away Wolves’ most influential player disputing the disappointing loss to Brentford.
Wolves have a real star in Ait-Nouri
Something which we’ve remarked on multiple times in the past few months is how incredible Ait-Nouri is. Now once more, he’s shown himself to be truly elite.
At just 22, he’s still far from the finished article and he’s likely to continue impressing for years to come.
That being said, these displays will inevitably draw attention from other clubs, and already Liverpool have been linked with a move recently.
