Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered a fourth defeat of the season as they lost to Brentford today.

However, one player who stood out in the old gold and black was Hwang Hee-chan, who came off the bench against the Bees.

Playing the entire second half, the South Korean international almost got an assist after some amazing footwork in the Brentford penalty area.

Hwang nearly got on the scoresheet too, only for an excellent tackle by Kristoffer Ajer to prevent him from getting his shot away.

Wolves spent the final 30 minutes of the game playing against 10 men. However, despite Shandon Baptiste’s red card for the Bees, Wolves were unable to rescue a result.

Time for Hwang to start?

Since joining Wolves at the end of August, Hwang is yet to start a game for the team despite the former RB Leipzig player scoring on his debut against Watford.

Many fans were calling for the striker to start, in place of Raul Jimenez, who has not scored this season.

The Mexican striker has struggled generally so far this season, and has not recorded a goal or an assist since returning from his fractured skull injury.

Wolves looked much more threatening when Hwang came on. Hopefully with more minutes he will be able to add to his one goal for Wolves.

Next up is a Carabao cup fixture on Wednesday against Tottenham Hotspur.

It might prompt Wolves boss Bruno Lage to start the on-loan striker.

Below are some of the best reactions from Wolves fans on Twitter to Hwang’s display:
