Hwang Hee-chan reveals how he truly feels about Rob Edwards after Wolves 3-0 West Ham

Hwang Hee-chan has had a tough period at Wolves over the last few months, but the forward is beginning to really enjoy his football under Rob Edwards.

The Old Gold picked up their first win of the season with an emphatic 3-0 victory against West Ham.

Hee-chan was heavily involved, picking up a goal and an assist during the match, and while Mane stole the show, Hwang deserves praise too.

It has been far too long since we have seen the 29-year-old at his best for Wolves, and the hope will be that the performance against the Hammers results in a purple patch.

Who was your MOTM during that brilliant 3-0 win for Wolves? 🤩

Hwang Hee-chan has been linked with a January sale at Wolves, but his latest comments about his head coach might show that he is looking to stay.

The South Korean has been subject to a lot of criticism over recent months, with some of it fair, but oftentimes it has felt like he was made a scapegoat.

Hwang has been asked to play out wide for the Old Gold, but it is clear that he is better suited as a number nine, and it appears Rob Edwards feels the same.

Has that Hwang Hee-chan performance changed your perception about the South Korean?

The Wolves attacker has shown his appreciation for his head coach with his comments after beating West Ham.

Hee-chan told Sky Sports via BBC Sport, “I love Rob Edwards; I like this coach tactically. I want to learn good football, but since day one he has taught us good tactical things. I want to be an important player. He explained very well; I can understand what he wants, not just for me all the players. He arrived just six or seven weeks ago.”

With Hwang at his best and possibly going through a purple patch, who knows how many points the Old Gold can accrue between now and the end of the season?

Praise should be as loud as the criticism for Hwang Hee-chan

Hwang Hee-chan might be the Wolves player that has seen the most criticism this season, despite the whole squad underperforming.

It seemed that when things went wrong, it was the South Korean who was first to take the brunt of the blame.

While some of the concerns might have been justified, others were not, and those that had blasted the forward must also recognise when he has good performances.

Hwang is certainly a confidence player, and if fans can get behind him and boost his self-belief, particularly after a strong performance, he can continue to show these levels.
