Wolverhampton Wanderers have been beaten 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League today.

It was a poor performance down in the capital, with Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg grabbing the goals for the hosts.

Nuno Espirito Santo again went with a back four, and the system was actually working fairly well before Spurs’ first goal.

A through ball from Hojbjerg found Harry Kane who was played onside, and the England captain calmly finished under pressure from Conor Coady, who was outstanding in the match except that crucial moment.

Hojbjerg added a second in the second-half, and Wolves did start fighting harder but ultimately there was never really any danger of Spurs dropping points.

One man who had a tough afternoon was Fabio Silva.

The striker has been looking promising in recent weeks and was rewarded with a third successive start against Tottenham.

But here the youngster really struggled to trouble the Spurs defence, and many of the things he tried simply didn’t come off and his finishing was wayward.

It was one of those days for Silva, and Neville was rather scathing of the teenager at one point in the second half.

He said on Sky Sports: “I just think with Fabio Silva, I don’t think he really looks happy.

“I just think it looks like he’s had his toys taken off him all the time.

“No real energy or urgency in his game.

“Everything looks a struggle for him.”

Silva poor but so were others

Silva did have a bad game today, but he really wasn’t the only one.

The pitchforks are already out on social media from neutrals and some Wolves fans who can’t look beyond the price tag, something the player did not choose, and his age.

It’s a shame because he’s been improving in recent weeks, and hopefully he can put today quickly behind him and get back on track.
