It’s an outcome that has been coming for a long time, but regardless of that, it still hit hard for many.

For Wolves now, it’s about going down in the right way.

Wanderers cannot stay up, but these remaining games are a chance to set the tone for next season, and for some players who’ll stay to make cases to be starters.

There is also the incentive to have a say in other clubs’ seasons.

And one club who desperately need a result right now is Tottenham Hotspur.

Stick To Football pundits predict Wolves vs Tottenham

Wolves host Spurs at Molineux – and it’s a game that will have many eyes on it, mainly due to Tottenham’s current situation.

Spurs are two points adrift of safety right now and absolutely need to win.

Wolves will be looking to add to their woes, and there’s every chance they’ll make life difficult now that the pressure is off with relegation confirmed.

However, both Gary Neville and Roy Keane believe Spurs will come through and win, because they have to.

Jill Scott said on the Stick To Football YouTube channel: “These’ll win, Tottenham.”

Roy Keane said: “3-1 Spurs. Do you know, it’s about time they showed a bit of fight, a bit of energy. A couple of lads coming back. Was Maddison on the bench (last weekend)? Spurs’ll be fine.”

Ian Wright: “I actually think Wolves will get something.”

Gary Neville: “I don’t think Wolves will win. I think Tottenham are going to score a late winner. 2-1.”

Wright: “They have to win this game.”

Neville: “I don’t see Spurs being comfortable.”

Rob Edwards doesn’t think Wolves will down tools

Relegation is now confirmed. But manager Rob Edwards is keen to extract maximum effort from his players in these final games.

He said (via E&S): “We know we’ve got to try and win and we’ve got to try and get results.

“Against Leeds there were a lot of duels, the lads were working hard, they were running, they were fighting because Leeds are really good at that. So you can’t question that, but that is our bare minimum.

“We need to try and find some results before now and the end of the season to try and get a bit of credit there and a bit of togetherness going into next season.”
