There were quite a lot of negatives to take away from Wolves’ loss to Man United, and Rob Edwards has pinpointed one major area of concern.
The Old Gold were well and truly beaten, and despite Jean-Ricner Bellegarde’s equaliser, they were never in the game.
The Haitian’s performance is perhaps the sole positive, but his injury has added yet another blow to a terrible season.

Rob Edwards slams Wolves’ defending vs Manchester United
Wolves conceded four goals against Manchester United, but all four could have been prevented.
It was a game of poor defending by the Old Gold, and they were left to rue their mistakes in yet another disappointing game this season.
Rob Edwards was left more than dissatisfied with how his side played in their own half and has slammed them, stating it was like “watching a kids’ game”.

The Wanderers will need to sort themselves out defensively if they want to stand any chance of an upset as they travel to the Emirates on Saturday night.

Wolves vs Man United was the Old Gold’s worst defensive performance of the season
Not only were Wolves their own worst enemy by gifting goals away and making continuous errors, but it was also statistically their worst defensive display according to the numbers.
The Wanderers conceded 4.1 xG as per FotMob, the highest they have conceded across all competitions this season in a single game.
That figure demonstrates just how easy it was for the Red Devils to play through them, and Ruben Amorim’s side managed to take 27 shots during the game compared to Wolves’ eight.
Rob Edwards certainly has a lot to do to iron out those silly mistakes his players are making, as the quality in the Gunners’ attack means they will not be afforded any errors.
It will be a significant challenge, and based on this season, it is likely one they will not surpass. It looks to be a tough week for the Old Gold.
