Portugal played out a 2-2 draw with France at Euro 2020 last night, and reported Wolverhampton Wanderers target Joao Palhinha finally got some minutes.

It was a hectic night, that saw the standings change multiple times.

In the end, France topped the group. Germany went through as runners-up and Portugal were third.

Arguably, France and Portugal put on one of the best games so far.

The game was of great interest to Wolves fans, with Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho and Nelson Semedo all starting.

Palhinha was substitued on at half-time in place of Danilo Pereira.

The Sporting CP midfielder is said to be one of Wolves’ priorities this summer.

The 25-year-old gave a really good account of himself as the midfield anchor.

He was really assured, tidy in possession and broke up French attacks.

He also played one or two lovely Ruben Neves-esque long balls out wide.

At one point, Palhinha got rounded by Paul Pogba on the edge of his box, but he then got his own back minutes later, winning possession before putting the ball through the Manchester United star’s legs.

It was certainly a promising cameo, which drew plenty of praise from fans on social media.
