Wolves’ unbeaten run in the Premier League came to an end yesterday against Crystal Palace.

After the brilliant win over Everton, Bruno Lage’s side were very disappointing at Selhurst Park.

Wolves had the chance to move up to fifth in the table.

But as the game progressed, it became clear that that just wasn’t going to happen.

Unfortunately, Wolves slipped back into defensive mode and invited pressure from Palace.

Wilfried Zaha and the impressive Conor Gallagher got the goals for the hosts. There was to be no Aston Villa-style comeback this time around.

Wolves were beaten by the better side, and Lage has some thinking to do over the international break.

It was an afternoon to forget for Wolves fans, but some did feel one player in old gold was worthy of some praise.

Max Kilman, fresh from signing a new deal at the club on Friday, was again fairly solid at the back despite the poor result.

It was a frustrating afternoon for Wolves.

But Kilman’s display was indeed a small positive to take.

He missed out on the latest England squad, and is already showing Gareth Southgate that he may have made a mistake.
