Conor Coady has lauded Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa, with the 28-year-old making a good impression against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
The 28-year-old was making his second start between the sticks following his £7 million (Express & Star) summer move from Olympiacos.
Sa conceded a penalty in the first-half when he took down Dele Alli in the box.
Replays showed that Alli dangled a leg to initiate the contact. Another referee may well have seen the incident differently.
That would ultimately prove to be the difference between the two sides. But Sa enjoyed a fantastic second-half.
He made great saves from the likes of Steve Bergwijn and Harry Kane.
He gave off an air of confidence and didn’t let the penalty incident impact him, and Coady really sang his praises after the game.
On Sa’s home debut, Coady said: “Incredible. He’s a fantastic person, a fantastic character, a great personality and a great person to have in the changing room. He talks, he speaks and he’s a funny lad.
“You see there today that he’s always off his line, he wants to come out and he’s been fantastic behind us and a real presence for the defenders.
“He was fantastic today, and we know what he can do as a goalkeeper.
Early days but Sa impressing
Rui Patricio will be a tough act to follow, but it has been a good start from Sa.
He appears to be a great shot-stopper, commands his area well and can seemingly distribute a bit better than his predecessor.
He’s clearly made an impression on Coady, and a number of fans were also complimenting him on social media after his showing yesterday.
It’s early days, but Sa is looking like a decent signing by Wolves.
