Clinton Morrison and Glenn Hoddle in total agreement about Wolves regular after ‘ridiculous’ error vs Fulham

Wolves were left stunned by Fulham early into both the first and second half of action at Molineux.

The Old Gold conceded after just one minute of play as Rodrigo Muniz set up Ryan Sessegnon, with Wolves allowing the Brazilian to then turn scorer after the interval.

Vitor Pereira’s half-time team talk was discarded by the squad who conceded soon after the restart, putting the hosts back to square one just as they discovered momentum.

While the first goal saw Wolves’ defence blasted for their inability to limit Fulham, the second was an incredibly disappointing one for Jose Sa to concede.

Jose Sa slammed by pundits Clinton Morrison and Glenn Hoddle

Sa has had a hot and cold season, as many wondered if the Portugal international would still be a Wolves player after transfer interest in the summer window.

Pereira firmly considers Sa as his number one but, the Wolves manager might have some choice words for the shot-stopper following his mishap in Fulham’s second goal.

Pundits quickly reacted to Muniz’s goal, with duo Glenn Hoddle and Clinton Morrison agreeing in their verdict of the Wolves ‘keeper.

Live on TNT Sports commentary, Hoddle described Sa as being in ‘no man’s land’, accusing the goalkeeper of gifting Fulham the goal.

“This is all about Adama Traore’s weight of pass with his left foot, it is a beautiful pass. Rodrigo Muniz times his run perfectly. Jose Sa in no man’s land. A lovely stab finish, Sa makes it easy for him.”

Morrison didn’t hold back as he branded Sa ‘ridiculous’ on BBC Radio 5 Live, questioning the thought process of the man between the sticks.

“Why is Jose Sa rushing out like that? Toti Gomes is running across and Rodrigo Muniz still has a lot to do. Sa makes his mind up for him. It is ridiculous.”

It’s not the first time that Sa has made a mistake this season and concerningly may not be the last, with the 32-year-old needing to sharpen up in certain situations.

Wolves’ goalkeeper situation is a problem

While Sa has been a stellar servant for the Old Gold, his mistakes have seen him earn criticism over the years.

So much so that O’Neil signed Sam Johnstone in the summer to increase competition levels but, it’s unclear who the better ‘keeper actually is.

The former Wolves boss was accused of causing chaos in the goalkeeper position, with two questionable players in the squad who are rather unreliable.

Sa will be hoping to redeem himself after his careless positioning against Fulham, where he was caught out by the clinical streak of Muniz.
