Chris Sutton drops ‘so dangerous’ claim in score prediction for Wolves vs Brentford

Chris Sutton has given his prediction ahead of Wolves’ clash against Brentford in the Premier League and praised one player in particular.

Wolves host Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon looking to make further inroads on the European places.

The fact that Gary O’Neil’s side are even in with a shout of qualifying for Europe after being written off at the start of the season is just a testament to the excellent job he’s doing.

It’s been a great week for the Wanderers once more, who followed up their 4-2 demolition of Chelsea on Sunday by giving Toti Gomes a new long-term contract at Molineux.

Wolves arrive into their fixture against the Bees unbeaten in eight of their last nine matches in all competitions while their opponents have lost eight in the same sequence.

This contrast in form has hugely influenced Chris Sutton’s prediction for the match.

Chris Sutton predicts Wolves vs Brentford

Wolves are unbeaten against Brentford in 10 of their last 11 matches in all competitions while this is the fourth time the two sides are meeting each other in the space of two months.

O’Neil has got the better of Thomas Frank in the Premier League having clinched a 4-1 victory in December before winning an FA Cup replay.

It is, therefore, no surprise to see Sutton predict a Wolves win in his BBC Sport column, outlining Portuguese superstar Pedro Neto as a major reason why.

He wrote: “How can I not back Wolves here, with the form they are in, and with Pedro Neto looking so dangerous? Gary O’Neil’s side won the reverse fixture 4-1 in December and I don’t see Brentford getting their revenge on Saturday.”

Sutton’s prediction: 2-1

Pedro Neto is a gamechanger

Sutton is right to single out Neto for praise.

After all, he has supplied an eye-watering nine assists in his 17 matches this term and is so crucial to how Wolves break on the counter-attack.

The 23-year-old is excellent at carrying the ball through tight spaces and this season, is finally adding end product to his devastating approach play.

On his day, he is a real game-changer for Wolves, who can alter the complexion of a match in a matter of minutes and he is deservedly receiving plaudits alongside his teammate, Matheus Cunha.

He stole the headlines at Stamford Bridge on Saturday by scoring a hat-trick to silence the home crowd and the Brazilian is enjoying an incredible renaissance in Gold.

With a whopping 11 goals and seven assists this term, Cunha is another who can change the game for Wolves in a matter of moments.

That dangerous pairing will no doubt have a huge say on the outcome of tomorrow’s contest as O’Neil’s side aims to supply Brentford with further misery.
