Wolves suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Arsenal on Saturday night at the Emirates Stadium.
Wanderers were always going to find it tough taking points from the league leaders down in north London. But they came so close to doing so, only to be stung right at the end.
Wolves gave a performance that was full of heart against Arsenal.
Despite defeat, there were plenty of positives to take away from that Wolves performance.
There was a response after the atrocious defeat against Manchester United, and Wolves thought they had snatched a point when Tolu Arokodare equalised in injury-time.
But an own goal by Yerson Mosquera saw Arsenal take all three points, breaking Wolves hearts.
It was a devastating outcome. But Wolves fans have been left buoyed by the fight shown by the players, with many optimistic that points can now be picked up under Edwards.
On Match of the Day, pundit Alan Shearer gave a brief verdict of Wolves.

Alan Shearer praises Wolves after sickening defeat to Arsenal

This was perhaps Wolves’ hardest game on paper so far.
Arsenal have been going really well and are obviously top of the table, competing to win the table.
So to go toe-to-toe with the Gunners was great to see.
Wolves really were incredibly unlucky, losing by scoring two own goals with one coming right at the death.
Use one word to describe that performance, Wolves fans…😒
But there was at least some acknowledgment from Shearer on Match of the Day.
He said: “I have to say how brilliant Wolves were, and how hard and difficult, they frustrated Arsenal for long periods of the game. Arsenal didn’t play well at all. There was a nervousness about them, they were edgy.”
Wolves must replicate performance vs Arsenal
It was gutting to see Wolves walk away from the Emirates empty handed last night, as the performance genuinely warranted a point.
Edwards’ side showed much more heart and fight this time, and to lose it like that was heartbreaking.
It will sting now, and likely for a few more days.
But the players must take heart from what they did and use it as a building block to improve. If that kind of performance can be replicated going forward, they will start to put points on the board, no question.
