Adama Traore sends message to Wolves ahead of Manchester City clash

Adama Traore has sent a message of good luck to Wolves, as the club gear up to face Manchester City at Molineux.

Wanderers are looking to get back to winning ways having gone four games without one.

It was almost four straight defeats at the weekend but for Conor Coady’s last-gasp header against Chelsea to level the scores at 2-2.

That will hopefully serve as a confidence-booster tonight, against another world-class side.

Wolves got unlucky earlier in the season when facing City at the Etihad Stadium.

Bruno Lage’s side put in a huge defensive effort, but were ultimately undone by a very questionable handball decision against Joao Moutinho.

Raheem Sterling stepped up to score the penalty for a 1-0 win.

Wolves will be hoping for a bit of revenge tonight, and they will have to do it without Traore, who has caused City problems in the past.

In the 2019/20 season, he scored three goals in the two games against them, with two coming late on at the Etihad in a memorable 3-2 victory.

He’s obviously unavailable tonight due to being on loan at Barcelona, but the Spaniard will likely be tuning in.

He put on his Instagram Story earlier ‘Good luck today’, having shared a post from Wolves of the winger and his teammates celebrating during a previous game against City. One would imagine he probably wishes he could be involved tonight.

He has struggled for game time at Barcelona over the past few months after an explosive start.

Wolves could miss Adama Traore tonight against Manchester City

It is a shame that Wanderers cannot call on Traore tonight, given the problems he has caused City in the past.

It’s more than likely that Guardiola’s side will dominate the ball.

That will mean Wolves may have to look to counter when they get it.

And there is no better player to counter-attack with than Traore and his blistering pace, as he demonstrated a couple of years ago in that game at the Etihad.

Hopefully, other players like Pedro Neto can step up.
