33-year-old returns, O’Neil faces midfield decisions… Wolves predicted XI v Arsenal

Wolves will face Arsenal on Saturday afternoon but Gary O’Neil has several huge choices to make, here’s our predicted XI.

Gary O’Neil will be coming into this game extremely unhappy given how VAR has treated him in recent weeks.

Away at Craven Cottage on Monday was yet another example with four controversial VAR decisions all going against them.

But ahead of the Arsenal game O’Neil will be worried about several absentees.

Both Mario Lemina and Joao Gomes are suspended after picking up their fifth yellow cards of the season.

Meanwhile, Rayan Ait-Nouri has joined Pedro Neto in the injured list for this one.

So with this in mind, here’s our predicted XI to face Arsenal…

We imagine with Wolves angry and desperate to pick up some points here, O’Neil will field a strong team.

That starts in goal with Jose Sa who is undroppable despite rumours swirling around regarding his potential departure and replacements being suggested.

In central defence, Craig Dawson returns from his suspension in place of Santi Bueno. Alongside him will be captain Max Kilman who was punished on Monday effectively for his honesty and Toti Gomes.

At left-back, Matt Doherty could come in to replace the injured Ait-Nouri. This then allows Nelson Semedo to continue at right-back.

In midfield Gary O’Neil has a huge decision to make as both his usual starters are suspended. This leaves Tommy Doyle and Boubacar Traore both set for key roles at The Emirates.

Ahead of this duo is Jean-Ricner Bellegarde who was brilliant in assisting Matheus Cunha on Monday and offers Wolves some pace and dribbling on the break.

Up front again this week will be the duo of Hwang Hee-Chan and Matheus Cunha which has been really successful recently.
