Wolves will be looking to get their European ambitions back on track when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
At the start of the season, most supporters would have snapped your hand off for a 17th-place finish, amid the financial turmoil that ensued.
But after taking 29 points from their first 22 matches, survival is nailed on and Wolves are instead of dreaming of a European finish.
The Wanderers enter this contest six points behind seventh-place Manchester United, however, they could have closed that gap if they hadn’t lost that 4-3 thriller on Thursday night.
Gary O’Neil’s side have no injury concerns ahead of this fixture so the Wolves doctor can afford to put his feet up, but Mali’s Boubacar Traore and South Korea’s Hwang Hee-Chan are still competing for continental glory with their countries.
With fewer than 72 hours between the last time they were in action, O’Neil must carefully assess the fitness of his squad and that could see him make a few changes.
Here’s our predicted XI for Chelsea vs Wolves…

Wolves predicted XI vs Chelsea – Gary O’Neil starts Santiago Bueno, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Joao Gomes
The ever-reliable Jose Sa has been a standout for the Wanderers this term and, although he conceded four against United, it’s still remarkable that Wolves only paid £6 million for him.
In defence, there could be one change to the side that lost on Thursday, as Santiago Bueno comes in for Toti Gomes. The Spaniard deserves to partner Max Kilman and Craig Dawson after watching Toti get dragged from pillar to post.
Nelson Semedo has the right wing-back spot nailed at the moment and unless he sustains an injury, that doesn’t look like changing. On the other side, however, O’Neil should replace Matt Doherty with Rayan Ait-Nouri, who impressed off the bench against Man United and offers more of a threat down the left.
The two central midfielders put in a lot of work last time out and while Tommy Doyle has been impressive for Wolves, it could be time for Joao Gomes to return to the side following his suspension. The £15m man has formed a superb partnership with Mario Lemina, who keeps his place in the starting XI.
As for their attack, the sensational Pedro Neto – who is a joy to watch at times – is one of the first names on the team sheet, as his Matheus Cunha.
The other spot, however, is up for grabs and Pablo Sarabia perhaps deserves to start over Jean-Ricner Bellegarde after making an instant impression off the bench against United.
Wolves (3-4-3): Sa, Semedo, Kilman, Dawson, Bueno, Ait-Nouri; Gomes, Lemina; Neto, Sarabia, Cunha
