The Wolverhampton Wanderers coaching staff alongside head coach Vitor Pereira features a clutch of expert minds. So, who features among the tactician’s backroom team at Wolves?
Wolves manager: Vitor Pereira

Wolves appointed Pereira as Gary O’Neil’s replacement in mid-December, with the Portuguese manager signing an 18 month deal at Molineux.
Pereira comes to the Old Gold with an already stacked CV, having managed the likes of Porto, Fenerbahce, and most recently Al Shabab before taking the helm at Wolves.
He faces a tricky task of keeping the club in the Premier League top flight in his maiden season.
Wolves coaching staff
Assistant manager: Luis Miguel

Pereira’s right-hand man for most of his managerial career has been Luis Miguel, and he was expectedly brought in as his assistant at Wolves in December 2024 too.
Miguel first worked as Pereira’s assistant manager back in 2013 at Al Ahli, before joining him at Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, 1860 Munich, SH SIPG, Corinthians, Flamengo and Al Shabab.
Prior to working with Pereira, Miguel was a head coach and manager himself. The Angolan-born coach spent the entirety of his own managerial career in Portugal, working at Santa Clara, Pacos Ferreira and as Porto’s Under-15 manager among others.
First-team coach: Andre Monteiro

Having worked with Pereira at Al Shabab, Monteiro was an expected appointment as a first-team coach at Wolves in December 2024.
The Portuguese-born coach started off his career as a scout for FC Porto back in 2016, before becoming a Video Analyst for Sergio Conceicao between 2018 and 2020 – a period in which the club won one Liga Portugal title.
Monteiro then moved on to his first assistant coaching role in July 2020 with Belgian outfit Mouscron before enjoying two years as Bordeaux’s Chief Analyst.
Goalkeeping coach: Ricardo Silva
Like most of Pereira’s staff, Ricardo Silva also moved from Al Shabab to join Wolves once the new manager took over.
The 44-year-old enjoyed a lengthy career as a professional goalkeeper before eventually hanging up his gloves in 2017. Since then, Silva has worked as a goalkeeping coach in Portugal, Saudi Arabia and now England.
Silva started off his coaching career with FC Porto’s Under-15s in July 2018, and made his way up to the Under-17 team in January 2020. He then enjoyed a two year stint with the Porto B team before making his way to Al Shabab to work under Pereira.
Conditioning coach: Antonio de Ascensao
The only member of the coaching team who hasn’t come across from Al Shabab, Antonio de Ascensao did at least work with Pereira previously a Shanghai SIPG, Fenerbahce and Corinthians.
Most recently, the conditioning coach worked at Latvian top flight club FK Auda, while he has also previously worked with the Gabon national team during a globe-trotting career.
