Wolves crashed to a 4-1 defeat against Manchester United on Monday night – and pundit Jamie Carragher dropped a damning verdict after the game.
After there were protests against Fosun before and during the early part of the game, Wolves were beaten yet again at Molineux, thanks mainly to terrible defending.
Wolves gifted United their goals, leaving fans exasperated in the stadium.
Who was the most disappointing Wolves performer in the 4-1 defeat to Man United? 🐺🔴
Yet another dismal evening for Wolverhampton Wanderers 😠
The first goal United scored really did just sum up Wolves this season, with Andre turning over possession in his own third, before the ball was scrappily put past Sam Johnstone.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was the only player to really show the bravery Edwards had called for before the game, and deservedly scored just before half-time.
Unfortunately though, he was forced off with an injury, and it didn’t look good as he hobbled off.
It was just another terrible night for Wolves, and Jamie Carragher’s verdict was one many Wolves fans will struggle to disagree with.

Jamie Carragher stunned by Wolves’ lack of fight after Man United loss

Wolves already find themselves 13 points adrift of safety.
Realistically, there is no closing this gap now, with there being too many issues for Rob Edwards to fix. Simply put, the squad is nowhere near good enough.
But while the quality is not there, Wolves can still control things such as desire, intensity and fight.
Edwards has said as much, but Carragher feels those things just aren’t there.
Predicting certain relegation, the pundit said on Sky Sports: “Wolves are going down. I thought they would do at the start of the season. But I thought they’d be a lot more competitive than this.
Do you agree with Jamie Carragher’s latest verdict on Wolves? 🤔
The pundit has been stunned by the Old Gold's lack of competitiveness in 25/26…
“They’ve made a managerial change as well and it hasn’t had the desired effect. We talk about the managerial bounce, normally that happens in the first few games then a team normally reverts back to what they are. They haven’t even had the bounce.
“There were maybe green shoots against Aston Villa where it was a really good performance – you felt they should have got something from the game. I thought if they replicated that performance they could give United a game tonight.
“But when you see some of the defending, and the carry-on there against an average United team, we know that, I think Wolves are going down. It’s just how much of a fight they put up between now and the end of the season. They will be playing in the Championship next season.”
Wolves face fight to beat Derby County points tally
At the start of the season, a lot of people did tip Wolves to go down, seeing that key players were leaving the club.
But many are going to agree with Carragher’s assessment here. It is truly alarming to see just how far off it Wolves have been this season.
Wolves are perhaps slightly unlucky to be stuck on just two points. But at the same time, the Premier League table never lies.

For the most part Wolves have been abysmal, and that Derby County points record is genuinely now under some threat.
Derby finished the 2007/08 season with a record-low 11 points. Wolves currently have two and still haven’t won a game – and fans are genuinely struggling to see where one comes from.
