Wolves will face Greek side Olympiacos in the Europa League Round of 16 next month.

Nuno’s side cruised through to the last 16 after defeating Espanyol 6-3 on aggregate.

Olympiacos shocked Arsenal by scoring in the final minute of extra-time to progress and, as a result, will travel back to England to play Wolves.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams, with a place in the Europa League quarter-finals up for grabs.

Daniel Podence joined Wolves from Olympiacos less than a month ago and will be coming up against his former team.

Some Wolves fans have reacted to the draw on Twitter.

“Podence master class”

The 24-year-old spent two years at the Greek side, scoring 13 times in 68 appearances.

Wolves were linked with Podence last summer, however a deal never materialised until the January transfer window.

The deal set Wolves back £16.9 million and the winger signed a four-and-a-half-year deal.

Some were also optimistic about Podence as a result of brilliant performance in the second leg against Espanyol.

“Do what Arsenal couldn’t!”

Arsenal were in pole position to qualify after defeating Olympiacos 1-0 at the Karaiskakis Stadium.

However, they were shocked as a Youssef El Arabi goal sent the Gunners home.

Wolves fans are hoping they can defeat Olympiacos over the two legs and avoid following in Arsenal’s steps.

Other Wolves fans were disappointed with the draw and would have preferred to draw Arsenal.

As Olympiacos were the first team out the pot, they will be the home team in the first leg on March 12th.

The return leg will take place at Molineux on March 19th.
